Highland Perthshire Golf

Dunkeld is an ideal base for a golfing tour of Scotland. The courses listed below are easily reached from Dunkeld. Even the famous Golf Courses at St Andrews are just over an hour by car from Dunkeld.

Aberfeldy Golf Club Taybridge Road, Aberfeldy, Perthshire

Alyth Golf Club. An 18-hole (6,259 yds) heathland layout established over a 100 years ago. The original 9 holes were designed by the master Old Tom Morris with James Braid completing the extension in 1934.Tel: 01828 632268

Auchterarder Golf Club is located in the heart of Perthshire, Scotland and welcomes visitors all year round. Our parkland course has spectacular views towards the Glendevon and runs along side the PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles. An easy walking course of 5775 yards it has a variety of holes with 6 challenging par 3s. Our newly refurbished clubhouse offers bar snacks and a full menu and is popular with visiting golf parties.

The Blairgowrie Golf Club was founded as a Private members Club in 1889 and is situated in the heart of the magnificent Perthshire countryside is home to the renowned Rosemount and Lansdowne championship courses. Both courses plus a very attractive and challenging 9-hole course are set in heather lined avenues of pine and silver birch.

Comrie Golf Course is situated in the most beautiful part of Perthshire, on the A85, close to the village. The course consists of nine holes with magnificent views over the Strathearn valley. There are some notable par three holes, the third and fifth, which requires a good accurate tee shot to reach the green. The ninth tee shot is played through an avenue of trees. The greens are always in excellent condition, and the club is proud of the quality of the course for playing golf. Craigie Hill Golf Club. Founded in 1911, Craigie Hill is a Club steeped in history. Set in beautiful Perthshire, the course is located on the western edge of the historic City of Perth. Tel:01738 624377

Crieff Golf Club was aproduct of the golfing boom, which opened half of the country's present courses between 1880 and 1909, Crieff Golf Club was established in 1891 after St. Andrews' Golf Professional, Old Tom Morris carved a nine-hole course out from what was East Ledbowie Park.

Dalmunzie Golf Course A93 Blairgowrie to Braemar road left at Spittal O' Glenshee. A small well-kept hill course amid glorious scenery. 9 holes 2099 yards.

Dunblane New Golf Club. This quality parkland course provides an enjoyable and testing challenge for golfers of all abilities. Gleneagles Golf. For those who are addicted to the game of golf, Gleneagles offers the chance to play on the world's finest courses.

Glenisla Golf Course is situated five miles east of Blairgowrie on the B954, is set amidst 180 acres of beautiful, undulating parkland in Perthshire and has recently been voted "one of Scotland's favourite golf courses" in Insider Business Magazine. This 18 hole, 6402 yard, par 71 course is a quality golfing venue which features over 40 bunkers and 5 water hazards, providing a superb challenge to golfers of all abilities.

Kenmore Golf Club This is a testing 9-hole golf course set in the heart of Highland Perthshire. The quality, mildly undulating layout provides an excellent venue amidst magnificent scenery. Motorised buggies, trollies and clubs can be hired from the Golf Shop beside the attractive Changing Rooms. The Byre Bistro, overlooking the first tee, offers first class bar, lounge and restaurant facilities.

King James VI Golf Club. Golf has been played in Perth since 1824 but King James VI Golf Club did not come into being until 1858. The club shared the use of the 10 hole course on the North Inch with the well established Perth Golfing Society. Tel:01738 625170

Killin Golf Club was founded in 1911 by a group of dedicated farmers, tradesmen, merchants and professional people, to provide a golf course for the community and for summer visitors. They could not have chosen a more glorious setting for the course, resting as it does at the start of beautiful Glen Lochay with its river sweeping past the first fairway to end shortly in Loch Tay. Playing golf in the midst of such breathtaking scenery is a unique experience.The main structure of the present Clubhouse dates from 1922 and was build from money raised locally, one fund raising event of note being a concert given in Killin by singers from the famous Covent Garden Opera Company in London.Although now somewhat longer than the original course, as designed by the Stirling Golf Professional Mr. John Duncan, the original features still remain - four par 3's, four par 4's and a par 5 hole often described as the most scenic closing hole in Scotland.Killin offers the best excuse for not keeping the head down while playing golf.Tel:01567 820312
