Scottish Potted Shrimps

1/4 lb. (100 g.) shrimps (cooked or frozen).
2oz. (50 g.) butter.
Pinch ground mace.
Pinch ground nutmeg.
Salt and pepper.


Melt half the butter in a pan and add the shrimps. Season. Heat for 2 - 3 minutes. Sieve or gently mash. Spoon into sterilized jars. Melt the rest of the butter and pour over the tops of the shrimps.
