Scottish Spring Soup

2 pints stock.
1/2 teaspoon castor sugar.
1 tablespoon rice.
Seasoning.
1 tablespoon each: shredded lettuce, carrot and turnip
(diced)

Method

Boil the stock, add the rice, carrots and turnip and
cook for 15 minutes.Add the lettuce, sugar and seasoning and simmer till tender.
