Walk Ben Nevis Scotland

Walk Ben Nevis Scotland

Walk Ben Nevis, Scotland. Lochaber and Glencoe, next door to each other on either side of Loch Leven, offer the UK's greatest concentration of really magnificent mountains. From the Blackmount to the Grey Corries, from Ben Nevis to Buachaille Etive Mor, this is country for linking high peak to high peak along sharp and sometimes rocky ridges. Here too are low-level walks between, rather than over, these most spectacular of summits. Gentle footpaths from the Caledonian Canal to the Nevis Gorge and the birch woods of Kinlochleven are just the start. Beyond are great through-routes along empty glens by lonely bothies to the edges of Rannoch Moor. The area is notable for tent or bothy treks that are short (2-4 days), and well supplied with villages, railways and bus stops, but still serious in terms of remoteness and scenery. This book covers from the Grey Corries to Ben Cruachan, including Glen Etive and the Blackmount. The low and mid-level routes are illustrated with 1:50,000 Landranger mapping. Ben Nevis and Glen Coe: 100 Walks in Lochaber (Cicerone Guide).
